How do I report a scam on AbegVerify?

Use the report form on the homepage to submit the scammer's details — phone number, account, website, or username — along with a description and, if you have one, a screenshot as evidence. You don't need an account to submit a report, but signing in lets you track its status and earn tokens if it's approved.

How do token rewards work?

When your submitted report is reviewed and approved by our admin team, you automatically receive 100 tokens. Token rewards only apply to signed-in users — guest reports help protect the community but aren't eligible for rewards.

What is a token worth, and how do I convert it to cash?

100 tokens = ₦20. Once you have tokens, open your Wallet from the dashboard and convert any amount you like into your naira wallet balance whenever you choose — conversion is instant and recorded in your transaction history.

How do withdrawals work?

Once you have at least ₦1,000 in your wallet balance, you can request a withdrawal to your bank account from the Wallet section. You'll need to set up a 4-digit withdrawal PIN the first time — after that, every withdrawal requires that PIN. Withdrawals move through Pending → Approved → Paid, and you can track the status at any time.

Why do I need a withdrawal PIN, and is it safe?

The PIN adds a second layer of protection so that access to your account alone isn't enough to move money out of your wallet. It's stored as a one-way hash — not even AbegVerify can see or recover your actual PIN — and it's required on every single withdrawal request.

What happens if my withdrawal is rejected?

If an admin rejects a withdrawal request, the full amount is automatically refunded to your wallet balance immediately — nothing is lost. You'll see the reason (if one was given) and the refund reflected in your transaction history.

How do I leave or read a review?

Search for a business, number, or website using the search bar, then scroll to the reviews section to read what others have shared or add your own. All reviews go through moderation before appearing publicly, to keep the platform free of spam and abuse.

What does a "Verified" result mean?

A Verified badge means our checks — including domain age, SSL status, WHOIS data, and community reports — didn't turn up red flags at the time of the check. It's a strong signal, not an absolute guarantee, so always use your own judgment alongside it, especially for anything involving money.

I don't have an account — can I still use AbegVerify?

Yes. You can search, view results, and submit scam reports as a guest. We assign your device an anonymous guest ID so we can track report history and prevent abuse, but you'll need a free account to earn token rewards, save your search history, or request withdrawals.

What information does AbegVerify collect about me?

For both guests and signed-in users, we record your IP address, approximate location, and basic device/browser information for fraud prevention and analytics — the same way most fraud-protection platforms do. If you're signed in, this is linked to your account; if not, it's linked to an anonymous guest ID only. We never share your personal reports or wallet activity publicly.

How do I update my account details or delete my account?

Go to Dashboard → Profile to update your display name and photo. To close your account or request data deletion, reach out through Help & Support and our team will handle it — this isn't yet self-serve from the dashboard.
